Thank you to the St. Angsar Zone for hosting this year’s Fall Retreat at Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. With a theme of “Something So Ridiculous,” we were reminded and inspired how ridiculously amazing is our Savior’s love for us.
Three wonderful shepherds of the flock led us in Bible Study reminding us of various accounts of “ridiculous love” found in the Bible – always going back to the most ridiculous love story – God sending His only Son to die on the cross for us, sinful beings, that we may have eternal life in Heaven with Him.
Maizy the Clown used humor and ridiculous antics, which kept us laughing, but always took us back to the powerful truth. God’s love never runs dry. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. Maizy works in Children’s Ministry at a LCMS Church in Minnesota and also travels the globe reaching children with the powerful message of God’s redeeming love.
59 women from across the Iowa East District attended and left many items for Camp Io-Dis-E-Ca as an In-Gathering and also made mats from plastic bags to be sent to Africa as a service project.
Thanks to everyone who attended and thanks be to God for a wonderful weekend to refresh and recharge in His saving Word.
